Monitor PNP genérico – Solución (Generic PnP Monitor – Solution – Sub Eng)
Hi everyone This video is a kind of actualization of the last video Before, i want to give the real credit to “exnico” from Taringa that is the original post and thanks to “ELTKGAMER” from youtube he wrote me about issues with Geometry Dash To start, about the problem with “ELTKGAMER” and his computer He have a computer with a video card “NVIDIA GT 620” and the newest driver already installed We had some conversations through Skype And i noted that the max resolution is not the optimum for his video card Meanwhile in the options of screen resolution. appeared like “Generic Pnp Monitor” and he did not have the full resolution and sharpness of the video card and monitor together Also, he told me that the problem came when his vga cable had some damage (like in the post of taringa) When he changed the vga cable, the resolution and quality came down Normally the monitors have information from factory, that Windows use for the right function of the driver Limits of the resolutions, sharpness, etc. When some component fails, maybe Windows cannot access to that information from the monitor. and the result is a bad video quality Here in my laptop all works normally I don’t have another computer for the example, but i’ll do the procedure here. First I’ll show you in the “Device manager” that i have already installed the driver for the video card And in the section named “Monitors” appears something like “Generic PnP Monitor” (or Generic non-PnP Monitor) Normally appears the information of the monitor, mark and model… So, what happening here? Just Windows can’t read correctly the information from the monitor. Windows uses some preset values that limit the operation of the video exit. So we need to go to one site named “entechtaiwan.com” They have a useful tool Then… We will open the link Here is their web “entechtaiwan.com” (There is a link in the description) Now we will go to “Utilities” They have some tools, but is only one that we will use, named “Monitor Asset Manager” (sorry for the pronunciation XD ) What are we going to do with this application? For what i did read. the application reads the information from the monitor, and creates a file with the extensión .INF in other words, is a driver for the monitor The application give us the information for that Windows can use it and set the monitor Well, i don’t want to bore you, so we will download the application. It is totally free for own use And it is no heavy We go to the download folder And, we will to install the program. Click on the “next” button Accept the terms and conditions (that nobody reads it) and click again on “next” button. Here we can see the supported architectures and operating systems. (x86 and x64) Supports Windows 8 (also Windows 10) Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Millenium, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows NT and Windows 95 (looks like it supports all Windows versions) Click on next button “Next” again “Next” Agaaain and “install” And… done, we select “Execute Moninfo” and click finish. Here we have the program interface. Click on menu “View” and select “Refresh” (or simply press the button F5. It is the same) At this point the program takes the monitor info. Ahora vamos al menú “Archivo” y seleccione “Crear INF …” Choose a name for the file, i will use that default name and save it to the “Desktop” folder. (Click on save button) It’s ready. Just a datum. “exnico” from Taringa recommends that use the cable that originally used the monitor, at the moment to create the file .INF (just in case that you changed the cable) After that unplug the old cable, reboot and plug the new cable. (it is just a recommendation from exnico, it is not necessary for all the cases) I don’t know if our friend “ElTKGamer” (now ELTEKADEKA) changed the cable at the moment to create the INF file, apparently I do not think so. I forgot to question him. So here is the INF file. What now? We open the “Device manager” and go to the section “Monitors”
then click on “Generic PnP monitor” with the rigth button of the mouse and select “Update Driver Software” Now choose the second option “Browse my computer for driver software” Then choose again the second option “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer” Select “Have Disk” In the next window select the “Browse” button. In this case we go to the desktop folder (or where the INF file is located) Select the INF file Click “Open” button, and then “Accept” button. Here we can see the message “The Driver is not digitally signed” this do not matter. (If you have Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 please check my other video) Now click the “Next” button. Then select “Select Install this driver software anyway” Here in my laptop all is alright, but in your computer may be the screen blinks a little during the process. In many cases is recommendable to Update the driver how here we doing when you have a “Generic PnP Monitor” Here the change is not considerable You can see that the name of the monitor has changed And now Windows has the right information for configure our monitor In my case the change is not “drastic” But in the case of my friend “ElTKGamer” He said that the image quality is better after doing this.
